Au pair and nanny courses recognised on AuPairly
Thinking about an au pair or nanny with training behind them? These are the courses our au pairs and nannies have done, with the facts you need to compare them. When you see the course badge on a profile, AuPairly has checked that the name on the certificate matches the name the au pair has given and that the course is legitimate.
How a course gets recognised
Every course on this page comes from a real, registered provider. It covers childcare, child safety or first aid, and gives a certificate at the end. The provider tells us the course hours, whether there's a practical and whether first aid is included, and we show that on every listing so you can compare like with like.
We're adding the first recognised courses now. Run a childcare or first-aid course? You could be one of the first listed.

List your courseCourse details are supplied by each provider. "Recognised on AuPairly" means a course meets our listing criteria. It doesn't mean AuPairly has assessed the quality of the teaching, and a course on its own doesn't guarantee how well someone will look after your children. Always interview, check references and trust your instincts.
Frequently asked questions
- Does my au pair need a course?
- No, it isn't a legal requirement. Many great au pairs learnt on the job. A course does tell you someone has taken the time to learn, and a practical or first-aid component is worth looking for.
- Which course matters most for babies?
- Look for paediatric first aid and CPR first. After that, infant or night-nursing courses show specific experience with newborns.
- How do you know the certificate is real?
- The au pair uploads their certificate and our team reviews it before the badge goes on their profile.
- Is a recognised course the same as an accredited one?
- Not always. Some courses are formally accredited, by QCTO or SAQA for example, and we show that where the provider has told us. Others are good short courses without formal accreditation.
- I run a course. How do I get listed?
- Fill in our five-minute form. If your course meets the criteria, we'll list it free and send you a badge for your website.
